Superseded by #147 (built & verified: clean npm install + native rebuild against the Electron 39.8.10 ABI, next build, electron-builder v26 packaging to DMG/zip/.app, and a non-crashing packaged-app launch smoke where the main process reached ready and the migrated clearStorageData() promise resolved). The upgrade also required migrating the two session.defaultSession.clearStorageData() callbacks in main/background.js to the promise API.
