Currently our forge-allura.apache.org site needs some manual work every time it is restarted (which is somewhat often due to filesystem issues, today's RAM upgrades, etc).
The commands that have to be run are listed at https://sourceforge.net/p/allura/tickets/7273/ Lately I've been running them myself when I notice our site is down. We really should get this fixed up properly. Two opportunities for people to help: 1) figure out a better way for Allura's solr configuration to work in general. Seems like we should be able to use a more standard system and just point it to our config file. Instead of the `java -jar start.jar` style command that you can see in the ticket above 2) Work with Apache Infra to update the puppet configuration for our allura-vm host so that the mkdir/chgrp/chmod commands are automatically taken care of during bootup. It'd probably be helpful to be an Allura PMC member for this, so you can ssh to allura-vm and get root too (see http://apache.org/dev/freebsd-jails#opie) I'd be happy to give lots of pointers to anyone who wants to help take this on. -- Dave Brondsema : [email protected] http://www.brondsema.net : personal http://www.splike.com : programming <><
