We are doing up and downscales quiet frequently using Ambari API calls -
recently with 2.0 we noticed that when you downscale using the API and check on
the Ambari UI’s it complains about the need of restarting RM and NN though no
need of it (cluster works well). Is there an issue or there is a particular
reason why this feature has been introduced in Ambari 2.0 and we are missing
something? This worked in 1.7.0 without asking for a restart.
If you do a downscale using Ambari UI the situation is more complicated - as is
asks for restarting all the services (push down the whole stack).
Same for HBase Master.
For upscales there is no complaint on the UI.
