Ranger has hard coded the Hive Server2 configuration directory to
{{/etc/hive/conf.server}}. For parallel configuration support, this was changed
to {{/usr/hdp/current/hive-server2/conf/conf.server}}, where {{conf.server}} is
a child directory now.
This will not work with Ranger installations on HDP 2.2, therefore this
directory change should told take effect when HDP 2.3+ is the stack.
