I have tried the nightly build on Solaris, there it is working. Let's try to revert experimentally to revision 1.7 of src/main/org/apache/tools/ant/taskdefs/optional/perforce/P4HandlerAdapter.java (before the threaded readers were introduced to read stdout and stderr) and see if it helps.
