I guess the answer is only because ISO-8859-1 is the default encoding on french boxes, and I didn't changed the default when I first start developing Ivy. But it shouldn't be a big issue, we shouldn't have international characters in our files except for the names. Actually we've avoided any such trouble so far by removing accents in contributors names. IMO it's not worth the trouble, but I don't have any accent in my name, so I'm certainly biased :-) > > Btw, my name is Adrian Sándor (assuming it shows up correctly), but I > don't > consider it a big issue. So I'd prefer keeping it like it is now. For contributors names I simply copy paste their names from JIRA. I don't know if JIRA support accents in usernames, but I guess not, so it's a good way to filter out accents :-) Xavier > > > Adrian > -- Xavier Hanin - Independent Java Consultant http://xhab.blogspot.com/ http://ant.apache.org/ivy/ http://www.xoocode.org/
