Hi, For better visibility and tracking of your contributions, please ensure the following:
- Ensure that your git user name and email are configured in your local settings: https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Getting-Started-First-Time-Git-Setup#Your-Identity - When you move environments, please ensure that the name remains the same and please use your full name. - The email ID that you use above is in your github profile (for a company email address that would typically be an alternate address: https://help.github.com/articles/adding-an-email-address-to-your-github-account/ - Make sure you have one ASF JIRA account only (don't create multiple with different email addresses), user name without white spaces or other special characters and the name on the account matches the git user name from item one. These settings can be changed in the profile, I believe even the user name can be changed by JIRA admins. What we don't want to lose is the issue history that is linked to the account. - For committers it is also nice to have the same full name on your ASF account. Thanks, Thomas
