Summary: UniqueCounter emits empty maps even when there is no input

No inputs received, empty maps produced. The operator is probably only used in
demos, and that's how the issue was noticed. Word count result files filled
with just {}s. The suggested solution is to change the operator to only emit
non-empty results.
