Munagala V. Ramanath commented on APEXMALHAR-2450:
--------------------------------------------------
The new behavior does seem preferable but there is a small probability (OK, how
about tiny ?) that it may break existing applications that may rely on those
empty maps to deduce some state about the input stream.
If there are no serious objections, we'll go ahead and merge it -- so please
speak up if you have any concerns.

> No inputs received, empty maps produced. The operator is probably only used
> in demos, and that's how the issue was noticed. Word count result files
> filled with just {}s. The suggested solution is to change the operator to
> only emit non-empty results.
