Hi Dietmar, Ariel,

it seems that both of you are interested in a color chooser control for our UNO toolkit. What do you think about the idea to investigate a little bit more time and create a real well integrated color chooser control. That includes the integration in the dialog editor etc. I think the necessary help from our side would be no problem.

And keep in mind that the community award program will coming soon and i think it would be a candidate for a project. If you are interested please feel free to contact me and we will see how we can move forward.

nice to hear it ended up well!

I suggest you to get inspired by the aggregate components in OOo_SRC/wizards/com/sun/star/wizards/ui

It's all Java using UNO AWT toolkit. Sure you'll find good ideas.

Inspirations are always useful, but your link is a bit too "short" for
me. You do not mean
"http://lxr.go-oo.org/source/installation/wizards/com/sun/star/wizards/ui/";, do you (Googled that)?

I think yes.
Well, actually I use the sources, you can download from http://openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org/?product=OOo-Dev&os=src_bzip&lang=core&version=OOH680_m2
for example, it's the cur. dev. snap. source

You will see aggregate components used in the Web wizard for example.
To debug it: get the sources, create a NB project out of it, start OOo in listening mode, attach the debugger, start the Web wiz. and so on

Initially I was thinking of simply rewriting the Dialog handling of the
former BASIC program, but that is a rusty bike compared to the Mercedes
jColorChooser.

well...this is another case of Java Swing vs. OOo AWT = KnockOut

I also been trying to get the schema for my OOo ColorPicker... well other that parsing the files in user/gallery

my mistake here.
The palette is under user/config

, there is NO API for that.

Regards
Ariel.
