Hi,

I would like to download OpenOffice which I came across online
serendipitously today! I know .you're probably thinking where has this wordy
person been hiding all these years? I don't know!

Before downloading I'd like to know about one issue. Will OpenOffice prevent
my using the 'MS Word' processing package? Will Word be over written by
default? If so, what would I do to restore Word? Are they even compatible?
Would my existing Word files remain safe to open and close as Word files?

I've looked at as many help or FAQ pages on your website about Open Office
as my patience will allow, but without finding any answers to my concerns
about continuing to use Word AFTER downloading Open Office.

Finally, is it possible to uninstall Open Office without losing MS Word?
There are no FAQ on uninstalling that I could find.

I think you expert computer people take a lot for granted assuming that
everyone understands everything about computers and you overlook giving the
simplest advice for newcomers!

If you respond, please keep your reply jargon free. Thank you!!!

Please reply.
