hi Regina, i have no particular knowledge about embedded objects, but: the "unpublished" just means that it may be possible that the interface could change in future releases of OOo, _if_ there is a good reason for such change. usually our APIs start out as "unpublished" nowadays, and after some years, they get promoted to "published", and cannot be changed any more. of course, there may also be APIs that are intentionally meant for internal use only, but one would hope that such APIs are explicitly marked and come with clear warnings. the APIs you really should not use are marked as "deprecated" (if you find one that just says "deprecated" without giving a hint as to what to use instead, please complain on this list). regards, michael -- "How to put it impeccably may be left as an exercise to the reader.
