no, this thread is long and i haven't read it, but i'm not at all in agreement. in fact i'll veto outright any change requiring async notification. i furthermore veto any change requiring more mutexes in pools: if you guys weren't paying attention the last two weeks when this performance problem was pointed out then i suggest going back and re-reading many of the threads i contributed to. maybe i'm just missing the point, i'll go try to read this thread now. -dean
