Following some discussion at the hackathon today and previous discussions on this list, a new 1.0 branch has been created. This will be used for what will hopefully be an imminent APR 1.0 release!
Discussions over the course of today among several APR developers it became apparent that the Ben Laurie's new PRNG code isn't quite ready to be included in a 1.0 release, so it'll be absent from 1.0 and hopefully make a welcome reappearance in a 1.1 release. Cliff Woolley is dealing with CVS as we speak and head will now become the source for a 1.1 release. Cliff will hopefully be posting the location of tarballs for APR, APR-Util and APR-Iconv shortly and we'd ask everyone who can to test it as soon as possible. Should there by any issues oustanding that you believe are showstoppers for the 1.0 release we would request that you yell as loudly as you can within the next 48 hours! If all goes as we expect then the intent is to announce the release publicaly at the closing plenary of Apachecon, scheduled to take place Wednesday 19th November 2003 @ 1700 (PST).
