Just wondering how ubiquitous "mkdep" is and whether that would help?
HISTORY
The mkdep command appeared in 4.3BSD-Tahoe.
(I have a feeling this dependency tracking is an old problem which
must have already been solved, but presumably not in an agn-O.S.-tic way..)
