I've looked through some of bugzilla and will spend some more time this afternoon in hopes of cleaning out any P1's and most of the P2's that are serious bug fixes. Platform changes can be deferred two or three weeks into the next candidates, that doesn't bother me as much (e.g. some WinCE and Cygwin and SkyOS) in terms of getting bug fixes to working code into users' hands!
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=40955 seems like we REALLY need to nip it in the bug. I don't see if Brian ever did follow up on the fix, and am working to understand the whole scope of the issue myself. But if anyone else wants to weight in or jump in, by all means! I'd hate to see 1.2.8 put off for very long, but I'd hate to roll a tarball with this issue still out there. It seems like you need a really active pool to tickle the bug, but once tickled, it's a pretty evil beast. Bill
