No. The list is a distribution mechanism.

Adjusting the Reply-To means that I cannot directly email the author.
I need to cut/paste their email address, but that might not be right.
They may have set a Reply-To on where they really wanted replies. If a
mailing list alters it, then information is lost.

I hit "reply" or I hit "reply to all". Simple. It works all the time
on lists without a reply-to set.

On lists *with* reply-to set, then I need to cut/paste to get a
message only to the author. Fuck that.

Now you're just making shit up. Your address always come through the
mailing list. The only topic here is what sits in the Reply-To field,
not the Sender or the From or the envelope.

Oh boo hoo, you can't reply to the list with just Reply. Get over it.
Hit "reply to all" and you'll be fine.
