I am a student and want to extend ArgoUML to work with Python for my diploma work and contribute the results to the argoeclipse project, if possible.

Unfortunately I didn't get the SVN version (07-May-2007) of argoeclipse working.
Yes, ArgoUML changed the way the Model Subsystem is initialized, so this is why the error "Model subsystem init failed" showed up. I've fixed this. Now ArgoEclipse should work if you update your SVN version and clean & rebuild everything.
