Hi Tony,

my idea about that topic: let ArgoUML take care to produce models that can be
used with AndroMDA (see http://www.andromda.org), and leave the
transformation/generation work to them. Read their forum, and you'll see that
we had several contacts in the past, and our step from NSUML to MDR enabled us
to have compatible models (there are some issues though). BTW, their new
release AndroMDA 4 (it's not yet released) allows for model transformation, not
only code generation.

Betreff: MDA Flow in ArgoUML

Hiya.

I poked around the web trying to learn about "Model Driven Architecture"
(or "MDA") a few months back. And I found a very interesting diagram, which
you can see here:

http://wam.umd.edu/~azgul/images/MDA_flow.png

I was wondering--is it possible to follow this workflow in ArgoUML? If so,
how?

For example, would it be possible to make a change in the Platform-Independent
Model and have the Platform-Specific Model automatically update to reflect this
change? (Let's assume this was a change to something non-Platform-Specific.)

After all, what I gather from this diagram is that you work at the highest
level possible, and then work towards greater specificity. If a change is to
be made, it should be made at the highest level possible so that it propogates
down through the more specific implementations.

P.S. Is this e-mail list plain text only? Attachments okay/not/sometimes?
(This is why I uploaded the PNG image and gave a URL.)
