I don't think I understand all implications of this. Java Web Start solves
part of this i.e. the start on client machine that is anywhere but there is
no connection to the server application in this.
I think the simplest solution is to use java web start with a generated jnlp
file that provides a command line argument that registers the url to a
session on the server application that your plugin uses.
By the way, what is the purpose of this setup?
