Hi Tom,

Sorry, I never even realized that Checklipse and Eclipse-CS are different things. I have no reason to switch from the former to the latter - I guess I was too much confused by the presence of the Eclipse-CS settings.

Reading between the lines, I conclude that the way to configure Checklipse is not changed.
I will attempt to get Checklipse running when I have some time...

Regards,
Michiel

Subject: Re: [argouml-dev] Checkstyle for Eclipse Ganymede (3.4)

Did anyone get Checkstyle working with Eclipse Ganymede (3.4) with our
ArgoUML specific configuration files?

Are you asking about the Checklipse plugin, which we've historically
used, or the eclipse-cs plugin?

It seems the configuration is stored in a ".checkstyle" file in the project
root.
Can such working configuration file be committed?

I have a vague recollection that this type of setup is used by
eclipse-cs. Switching over to use it involves more than just the
eclipse-cs settings, because the appropriate builder needs to be
included in the Eclipse project definition so that it gets run every
time the project is built.

Are you proposing that we switch from Checklipse to Eclipse-CS? The
latter seems slightly more active and has an update site which is
useful for automatic updates, but Checklipse seems to work fine with
Ganymede and they both support Checkstyle 4.4. Is there sufficient
justification to switch? What do others prefer? I think it makes
sense to pick one or the other and have everyone use the same one.

Tom
