Hi Linus, the Java module is in an unstable intermediate state. I'm going to restore it within the next days, sorry for the inconvenience. I have almost no time at the moment, that's life... :( I'll give a status report soon, but maybe not before thursday (so not in time for alpha 2).
BTW, I have no time to do some "press release" work for the next release, if anyone can do it I'd be glad.
