I'd be surprised to find that language modules required changing although I confess to a great deal of ignorance of the code in this area. I would assume though that the need here is only to create a small subset of model elements such as Class, Interfaces, Attributes and Operations. The API and usage of those I can't imagine would have changed much for UML2.x I do know that there is a change regarding association ends but providing builConnection is used to build the association then the different model implementation can deal with creating with the association end or the UML2.x equivalent.
