Applications for GSOC are now open We need to be sure if we will go for this and if we have the mentors willing and available for any proposal.
We have a GSOC 2010 page from last year - http://argouml.tigris.org/wiki/Ideas_for_GSoC_2010 I'd suggest that is rebranded as simply as "Ideas for GSOC" so that it can be simply edited and reused each year. There are some ideas there already, could you add your also Thomas. We then need to be sure that we have someone to mentor any of these tasks - could people add their name to any project in the wiki they would be willing to mentor. If we have ideas but nobody willing to mentor then it could be embarrassing for us to turn people down. For myself I had entered some ideas from last year but based on how busy I am at the moment it's unlikely I'd consider anything other than things that move us to improved UML2 support. If the other ideas I've had can't be supprted by another mentor then they should be dropped from the list. My concerns again are for argoeclipse and how we get more skills into that project. Getting undo to work I think relies on more eclipse integration but I don't think we have enough knowledge in the team at the moment. If Tom is willing to mentor again then that would be fantastic but we need to build more knowledge within the team and/or get new blood into the team with the skills and knowledge (and keep hold of them).
