+1 (non-binding) I ran TEST_DEFAULT=0 TEST_CPP=1 ./dev/release/verify-release-candidate.sh 16.1.0 1 on aarch64 macOS 14.4.1 with Homebrew. I did run into one failing test which I've filed as [1].
