Summary: Need retention period option to auto purge the deleted
entities

* currently the deleted entities stays forever, need option/configuration to
delete it after certain days ( says 6 months) so that users can configure it to
clean up deleted entities. we can have the default o stay forever like now but
at least the conf to be exposed so that user can configure as needed.
* Also there is no direct api to purge/expunge the deleted entities currently
