The usual reasons:
- avoid conflicts
- enable hierarchical organization of types.
Support:
- CRUD on namespaces
- browsing of the namespace hierarchy
- Search types by namespace membership. Search types by namespace ancestor
relationship.
- Imports in Sessions, for automatic resolution of unqualified type names.
