I'd like to see it at least. We need to have better logging support in Merlin. If this is one way to do that, then we should at least investigate it. Can't say much more until I see the code though. On a slightly different, but related, note: Can we better integrate with commons-logging? I know it came about after Avalon framework, but there's almost a one to one correspondence between the logging package in the framework and commons-logging. Even if we just provide a wrapper (I know, commons-logging is also a wrapper, so you'd have a wrapper in a wrapper), it would be useful for integrating Avalon into projects which already support commons-logging. I was looking at all this about a month ago. I'll need to sit down and review everything again before I can add much more interesting banter. J.
