to do a Ph.d then bailed out cuz I was starving here in the states.

hmm. The job market for physicists here is better than for compsci's, I think. I'll probably end up majoring in something that relates the two fields, like simulation.

development pays the bills and well its way more fun - instant gratification.

indeed. To a point...delayed gratification is nice too. Which is a broad statement I guess ;)


I want to go back to physics at some point.  My undergraduate education was
based on it too but then I went on to do CS as well.  Love them both really.

I love most fields of science :D. I came real close to doing something like contemporary philosphy or one of the social sciences. Money was a big part of the argument against diving too far into those.


I thought for a while about taking CS as a second subject, but they'll make me do lots of boring stuff for a few years before I can start on any kind of fun stuff there. So I'm just doing the fun stuff in my free time ;)
