Ryan Blue commented on AVRO-1727:
---------------------------------

Looking at the original issue, AVRO-593, it doesn't look like there is a
software grant. Odiago, Inc. can hold the copyright (as is normal for
contributions) and the work is licensed to the ASF, as stated in the header. I
thought removing the fact that this file is licensed to Odiago made the fact
that it is licensed via ASLv2 to the ASF clear.

I think the right thing to do here is to ensure this is reflected in the NOTICE
file because Odiago would be no longer referenced in the source (even though it
is strange that the reference here is that the work is licensed to Odiago). I
went back and found the [NOTICE file that this
references|https://github.com/wibidata/odiago-avro/blob/71962bc58afe058f47ace75f983adb7d5d3fab1e/NOTICE.txt]
and will include that in the patch. I'll also make sure this is in the LICENSE
file.
