It would be neat to include links to benchmarks, articles, and papers.
There were a couple of academic papers recently on
[user@|https://lists.apache.org/thread/gx49m7pr6nr310k7th1jjvlyfv2jdrco] that
compared Avro to a variety of JSON binary formats.
