Hi Gu,

Well .. it’s a part of MY vision ;-) … at least I know that MQTT is becoming
the major protocol in industrial automation parallel to OPC-UA and here the
broker is the most important part ;-)
Happy that we now have BifroMQ at Apache.

And regarding TAC. The process is pretty straightforward. If TAC is sponsoring
an event (We currently mostly only sponsor Apache events), you file an
application as soon as the applications open.
There you’ll be asked several questions about your expectaions, your financial
situation and your contributions to open-source and apache. Would also be good
to mention if you’ve submitted a talk/have a talk accepted. These will then be
reviewed by the tac team and then we select a number of applications, which we
sponsor based on the budget that we have.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for reaching out! As a team member, I am thrilled to hear that you see
the project as an essential part of the industrial IoT vision at Apache.

I would definitely like to submit a talk for the IoT/IIoT track.

Also, thank you for the information regarding the Apache TAC! That is a
wonderful resource. I’d love to learn more about the details/process for that
to ensure we can make it to the event.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
Gu Jiawei (gujiaweijoe)

Forget that … Glasgow … Halifax was years ago 😉

Anyone here planning on submitting a talk to C>C2026?
I am the track chair of the Industrial IoT / IIoT track and for me BifroMQ is
one big and essential part of my vision of Industrial IoT solutions at Apache.
Is anyone here planing on submitting a talk?

As you are a very new project here at Apache:
I would also like to advertise Apache TAC (Apache Travel Assistance Committee)
… think of as a stipendium program, that allows people to travel to our events,
if their financial situation doesn’t allow that otherwise. If you apply and you
are selected, then Apache can cover: plane-tickets, hotel costs, conference
registration costs and even food. So „I’d love to give a talk on BifroMQ, but
can’t afford the trip“ doesn’t count as a reason 😉

If you’re interested, please ping me for details.

Chris
