we are pretty far behind on gradle (1x). time to upgrade. i assume this
patch updates the whole toolchain properly. but i dont know how it works
really that well so maybe i made a mistake.
Im actually not even sure why gradle is in the toolchain? It doesnt seem
required for running hadoop. maybe we are using the toolchain for more than
that though.
