To reduce the release burden, it may be reasonable to drop support for
certain deprecated OS such as Debian 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 in the next 3.3
release.

We definitely should drop old distros in Bigtop 3.3.
Even dropping them from 3.2.2 (if released) is a viable option.
At least, we can just drop pre-built binaries
available for users' convenience under http://repos.bigtop.apache.org/releases
without touching the source.
Users still can try to build packages on old distros on their own.

Thanks for your efforts in rolling out v3.2.1 release.

I will start vote for Bigtop 3.2.1 in a few days.
I decided to drop support for CentOS 7(ppc64le) and Debian 10(ppc64le)
from this release
since building Docker images for them never ends.

Sorry to take a long time to prepare the release due to my available cycle
and time to understand CI environment.

Thanks,

Hi developers,

We should start release process of Bigtop 3.2.1
in order to address security issues fixed by Hadoop 3.3.5.

I volunteer to do release manager work.

Since BIGTOP-3926 and BIGTOP-3927 are already fixed, BIGTOP-3930 looks
only blocker left open.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/issues/?jql=project%20IN%20(Bigtop)%20AND%20fixVersion%20%3D%203.2.1%20ORDER%20BY%20updated%20DESC

I think we should limit the scope to just bumping Hadoop to 3.3.5
and critical fixes (if any) to release this quickly.

Thanks,
Masatake Iwasaki
