Hi Yu,

There was a discussion[1][2] about ClickHouse, which I believe also applies to
Doris, as their technology stacks are quite similar. Although Doris will not
encounter the protocol issues discussed in the thread, based on the previous
opinions, if a component does not have dependency issues with other Hadoop
ecosystem components, we would recommend adding more distros support for them
and using the tarballs/binaries provided by their community.

However, this raises another issue: using a framework like Bigtop Manager to
manage such components is quite difficult. Therefore, I am considering whether
we can add a proxy-like method to directly download the tarballs they provided
and package them into rpm/deb packages, instead of compiling from the source
code.

I'd like to hear others' opinions about this.

Best Regards,
Zhiguo Wu

| Subject | [DISCUSSION] Introduce Apache Doris to Bigtop |
Hello everyone:

I hope the community can introduce the Apache Doris component, according to
the official website introduction,
Apache Doris is a modern data warehouse for real-time analytics. It
delivers lightning-fast analytics on real-time data at scale.

As Doris usage is rapidly increasing, do we need to consider adding it to
Bigtop?

If possible, I am willing to take on this job.

Thanks,
Yu Hou
