First let me say that I am delighted to see true interest regarding this project, and most happy to see Alexandro's interest in acting as co-lead.

That said let me ask that we not move too quickly on this decision of leadership role.

My reasons for suggesting that the process not move too quickly are three fold.

First - given the level of inactivity over an extended time it is unlikely that a large number of people monitor this mailing list in any sort of timely fashion. In other words we should assume that it will take some period of time for many to even realize that this position is open. It would also be prudent IMO for us to be pro-active in letting others know what is happening. I intend therefor to do some posting to other lists, and in the case of a few individuals directly, to inform them of the current activities.

Second - Also driven by the current situation, I am quite interested to hear from Louis regarding both his desires for the project as a whole, and specifically his desire to remain as the project lead. On this point, I know from an email exchange with Alexandro this morning, regarding a separate project, that he has contacted Louis about this situation and therefore look forward to hearing from him on this list.

Finally - OOoConn. I have to think that more then a few voices that should be heard are rather busy with the goings on there.

To sum up then, I would simply ask for a few days to let the information filter out to the community at large and suggest that using this time to discuss in a bit more detail 'What' people want to see this project do would be time well spent. I hasten to add however that the time period be counted in days only.

Sincerely,

Drew
