It is the Multiple-Project, Multiple-Environment strategy. Bloodhound has Multiple-Project, Single-Environment support. Trac will hopefully provide support for multiple projects in a single environment in the future, but it isn't actively being worked on, and we haven't discussed whether some or all of what has been introduced in Bloodhound would be backported. I have tried backporting some small changes from Bloodhound to Trac, and hope to soon embark on backporting some bigger features in 1.1.x: http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/11627 http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/31#comment:180 Olemis has backported some features, but the Trac devs still need to review and discuss the changes: http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/11585 http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/11588 > I am a > little confused that Trac and Apache bloodhound go together or not > since some feature including in Apache bloodhound should be integrated > in Trac. I understand and I think the projects should be more closely integrated. At least, that is an aim of mine. I would like to see BloodhoundSearchApi, BloodhoundRelations and MultiProject support backported to Trac. Among other things, doing so will make maintaining Bloodhound easier and Bloodhound can then focus on providing features that go beyond Trac's aim of providing a "minimalistic approach to web-based software project management." I believe that Bloodhound will always be based on Trac (it will not permanently fork from the codebase), and we will aim to integrate changes from the latest releases as soon as they are available. Trac 1.0.2 should be available soon, based on the recent discussions on the TracDev mailing list.
