With the package renames going at full speed we will soon face the challenge of
upgrading existing instances of Brooklyn to the latest version. While single
instances should be straightforward to update (once we have the necessary
transformations), having more complex setups with existing upgrade automation
will need special attention. We could make the transition to the next version
of Brooklyn transparent to users with the help of #738, saving us a lot of
head-scratching in the process.

Any opinions and comments on the changes would be greatly appreciated (either
supporting or refuting the direction). I'll obviously fix the merge issues, but
waiting for some input first.

Svet.
