Note that the 5.6 release uses the glibc2.5 naming scheme as well - https://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-5.6/mysql-5.6.27-linux-glibc2.5-x86_64.tar.gz If 5.5 support is required then +1 for the change, but should keep forward compatibility with next versions.
