Yes, ‘drop’ was the right thing to do.

‘Closed’ just means that it’s not possible to add anything to the repo. Each 
repo is ‘open’ for a short time during the release process while the script is 
adding files.

The other verb is ‘release’, which means send the repo to Maven Central.
