Each database system adheres to its own set of type standards. In the current
version of Calcite, there exist partial implementations that cater to the
distinct type requirements of various databases. To ensure a consistent
approach to resolving similar challenges in the future, it is proposed to
develop unified, database-specific type systems, such as SparkTypeSystem and
HiveTypeSystem.
