java version: 1.5 vs 1.6 vs 1.7 ...

Hi,

In various readme files it is stated that Calcite requires java 1.6 to compile.
I wonder why do we have <source>1.5</source><target>1.5</target> in pom.xml

Is there any objection from updating source/target to 1.6?
