There would be a CI -- continuous albeit time-lagged: * Hive is on 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT (but the snapshot only gets updated when I push one) * Drill is on a forked branch from about 6 months ago (and trying hard to get current) * Lingual is probably a year behind
So sadly we need to use human expertise rather than try-it-and-see. Part of the reason I want to upgrade is to avoid stagnating on an old version of a dependency because one of the people who depends on us can't or won't upgrade. It pains me that we are still on guava-11.
