Thanks Julian, Jacques and others for this opportunity. As requested, here's a brief introduction: I work on various query processing/optimization areas of Apache Drill. My primary interests are mainly in making the core SQL operators perform better - either through the optimizer or through executor or both. In the past I have worked on MPP databases and an OLAP engine. I look forward to working with everyone in this community to making Calcite a great query optimizer.
