I switched back to Maven 2.0.9 and it works.

After that, I upgraded to Sitemesh 2.4.2 and it works also (all unit tests and
mvn jetty:run). Could you please try it with Maven 2.0.9?
It was not possible for me to write a unit test which demonstrate this problem
in an automated way... :-(
