In EnBW we also have only 2.x projects in production. So I think it is a
good idea to phase out 1.x.

* 2.x is more feature rich
* most of the projects that use Camel we know of already migrated to 2.x
* the api changes and migration effort is not that big
I would recommend planning for only one more release of the 1.x branch
somewhere in Q4 and then discontinue development/support on the 1.x branch.
