Together with Maxim, we would like to also add (1). It is an improvement from CASSANDRA-19552. It will be very tricky to fix anything related to that once it is out as formats / behavior would change so better to fix it now as it is not in any release yet.
The PR is up, depending how fast we can review and I can build it but should be a matter of a day or two.
