Greg, 

an automated Maven build would do fine (finalyl a reason to commit that
suggested Maven project descriptor .. ;-)). How many different database
systems can you potentially get installed on that system ? Me thinks that a
build is the bare minimum, but automating execution of the CTF test suite
would be even better. Let me know whether that would be o.k. for you ?
