wouldn't it be better to elaborate a bit more on the XML project ideas?
I am not sure if it will be possible to define a useful target for the
documentation projects as offered currently. Wouldn't it be better to
offer the migration of our documentation to a format supported by maven?
Such a idea would also allow us to share the work between multiple persons.
Listening to the GSoC mailing list it apears to me that some students
are already looking for project ideas. The list always point them to the
projects of the past years. But at that list you can only see the
projects that have been succeeded. There are no link to the idea pages
available nor links to the organizations (e.g. codehaus) nor links to
projects (e.g. Castor). I suggest to add a link to our new ideas page at
a prominent place on our homepage to attract those students searching
for projects now. A mail on our announcement list may also help to gain
interests in our projects.
