August, please use Maven only for building Castor. We have - a couple of weeks ago - decided to purge all generated classes from our SVN repository, and thsu rely on Maven (and the Maven plugin for Castor) to generate those classes from existing XML schemas.
And yes, I know that documentation about this change is not fully available.
